When In Manila can’t get enough of Casa Nostra’s “authenticity”
The hugely popular website, When In Manila, writes about “a taste of Italy” here in Manila!
When in Manila and you’re having a craving for authentic Italian cuisine that’s more than just your usual pizza, spaghetti and lasagna, then I highly recommend that you try out Casa Nostra at Eco Plaza…Stepping inside Casa Nostra is like being transported into Italy. The restaurant is dimly lit but just enough to provide good and cozy ambient lighting. I loved the combinations of brick, dark-slate floors and dark wood furniture which gave the restaurant an Old World feel…This dish changed the way I look at spaghetti. In the picture you’ll see the meatball all cut up to show to mix of meat and the other ingredients. Casa Nostra sure do know how to serve up classic spaghetti…I loved the fact that the menu shows the dishes in their Italian names, you can have fun trying your hand at speaking Italian here. This adds a lot to the authenticity of the place. When in Manila and your friends want to get a taste of Italy right here in the Philippines, Casa Nostra is the place to be.

Sushi Bytes loves every bite at Casa Nostra!
Trendy food critic site, Sushi Bytes, walks in randomly to Casa Nostra and is won over:
Ever since we started buying restaurant vouchers from these group buying websites, we’ve discovered restaurants in unfamiliar places that we never would have found otherwise. But as with most things in life, nothing is guaranteed and not everything is all that it seems. Sometimes you wind up with duds, other times you uncover diamonds. This experience, at quaint Casa Nostra along Pasong Tamo extension in Makati, was a dazzling diamond. With our two PHP 500 Ensogo vouchers each entitling us to PHP 1000 worth of food, we ventured off into unfamiliar territory and brought back memories of a place that gave its diners an authentic and unforgettable Italian dining experience.

Reserved For Two raves about Casa Nostra
Restaurant review blog, Reserved For Two, visits Casa Nostra and is a convert:
It was a fine dining type of restaurant. We weren’t dressed for it at all! People there were in coats and leather shoes! For starters and a free treat, they gave a basket of bread. It was warm and soft. You don’t need the sauce. YUM! For the must try in this restaurant…….PANIZZA – toppings of truffle cream sauce, artichokes, chopped olives, arugula and alfalfa sprouts! Verdict: Will definitely come back for that Panizza!!!

“Funny is the New Sexy” wooed by Casa Nostra
Irreverent actress and writer, Kring Elenzano, is a Casa Nostra convert.
So, if you ask me, will I recommend Casa Nostra? If you’re a student who survives on instant ramen and Sky Flakes for dinner and has to spend money on thesis and exams, or a yuppie who eats Php 100 meals for lunch, well, I’m afraid to say that this restaurant is not for you. But if you want to enjoy quality food that is authentically Italian, a lovely ambiance and great service (gray blazer and bowtie *wink wink*) then there’s no reason for you not to try Casa Nostra. It’s a perfect place for dinners with families and friends, meetings with clients and of course, romantic dates. (Tip: guys, order the panizza, you might have a “happy ending” wheehee.)

Food Fanatic gives Casa Nostra an A+++
Popular food blog, Food Fanatic, reviews their experience at Casa Nostra in glowing terms!
Looking at the restaurant from the outside, it’s as if nothing was great about it. Once you get inside, you’ll be amazed of the interior. It’s as if you have been taken to another place and time (The Godfather, anyone?). The lighting was very warm and cozy, the furniture and fixtures were lavish, the staff — friendly. The place is so private and romantic. Adorned with chandeliers, thick curtains with detailed embroidery and bricked corners and walls, it brings about a welcome feeling of class…

What’s New Out There features Casa Nostra
Popular online consumer guide, What’s New Out There, is delighted by Casa Nostra!
Bottom Line: This is one of the best Italian restaurants in which I’ve ever had the pleasure of dining. Your eyes will open wide when you’re served huge portions of in-house made pastas (big enough for take home leftovers) as the many fiercely loyal customers have already found out. This small Pasong Tamo eatery houses a dozen highly-prized tables, overrun by small families, clusters of friends and boomer couples. Framed in an old world décor, plus authentic Italian music, helps complete the Italian feel, but the food is still the main attraction here.

The F Word is won over by Casa Nostra
Casa Nostra gets a great review at popular indie blog, The F Word, with some great photos!
I was a tad skeptical at first cause I had never ever heard of the place before, so i had my expectations set low. Boy, was I wrong. The food was pretty close to Amazing. The Ingredients were fresh, Things tasted warm, and comforting, and they had a lot of stuff to choose from. I’m not talking plain old spaghetti and meat balls here. They had lots of authentic Italian dishes to choose from. Taste aside, what really won me over was how amazingly reasonably priced everything was! Seriously. Good portioning yet hella affordable.

Dreamwalker says Casa Nosta is THE place to go
Trendy webmistress blog, Dreamwalker, did a wonderful review of Casa Nostra.
It is always a great adventure to find a new place that offers something better. And believe me, I think I just found the ultimate Italian restaurant in this part of the world. I know I am not the best judge of how authentic Italian food tastes, but I do know awesome food when I taste it. And trust me, my experience last week was one that will make me come back for more.

Super Sarap hails us as having the Best Italian Food in Manila
We were recently featured on the Super Sarap food blog. Here is an excerpt from the review:
Behold the Linguine alla Vongole, a dish I’m too often disappointed by. Casa Nostra’s version is excellent. The clams are juicy, the noodles packed with flavor. With every bite, I think this is what Italian food is about – fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and portions that would make an Italian Mamma proud.

Sticky Rice says Casa Nostra is the best Italian restaurant in Manila!
The popular food and travel portal, Sticky Rice, has called us the best Italian restaurant in Manila and they don’t hold back any punches!
Casa Nostra is the kind of restaurant that feels like it’s been there for years (it just reopened in June), friendly and warm, with truly comforting and authentic Italian cooking. It really is a taste of home in the madness of the city, one of the best restaurants in Manila I’ve ever tried.

Casa Nostra: a Food Bloggers Network Food Find
The International Food Bloggers Network has featured us as a “food find”:
Stepping into Casa Nostra is a little like exhaling after holding your breath for as long as you can. It is relaxing and elegant and candlelit and casual all at once. Servers with quiet smiles greet you Buongiorno while Italian guitar music plays softly in the background. The tablecloths are crisp and white, the chairs wide and comfortable.

It seems the well known o5 recipes website thinks that our Ossobuco Milanese is the best they have ever tasted!
“Casa Nostra Restaurant (which means “our home” in Italian) quite simply has the best Ossobuco Milanese (Ossobuco in Italian means “bone with a hole“) I have ever tasted!”

bFeedMe savored our Cioppino!
Popular food and recipe blog, bFeedme, wrote a rave review about our Cioppino.
Everyone has their version of a seafood soup or stew, and one of my favorites is Cioppino, which hails from the Italian immigrants who settled in San Francisco. It’s not a dish one would easily find in a city like Manila, so it was a pleasant surprise to find it in a little gem of an Italian restaurant called Casa Nostra.
Grazie!!
